Challenge
The Yell salesforce, all 1,500 field sales and 300 telesales, are constantly challenged to drive advertising revenue across a number of products - Yellow Pages, Yell.com, 118 24 7 and Business Pages. Our challenge was to help raise effectiveness levels and reconstruct a digital off-line tool. Our aim was to help the salesforce compile, construct and disseminate relevant information to support the sale, without compromising the brands, in a way which is easy to manage, aides the sales consultant in their job and which portrays a professional and forward thinking business.
Response
Works Digital reconstructed the user interface and created a new front end digital platform, in Director and Flash, which allows sales consultants to:
- Access relevant information for specific customers/prospects to help pre-plan and create a recommended advertising program
- Generate slide presentations using a simple drag and drop slide system containing pre-published product slides, where content cannot be changed, and customisable template based slides where data, mapping, images, video and copy can be imported and edited to create specific tailored slides
- Save, print and export via email any presentations, data reports and recommendations for the attention of customers, colleagues and internal studio. The system was also built in such a way as to allow all areas to be fully trackable and updated on consultants laptops/mobile devices via remote access utilizing a SAP back-end infrastructure.
Result
CIT continues to successfully support the sales process and is THE key sales tool used by field sales to sell Yell products. Sales now rely on CIT to help disseminate information at the point of sale in order to give customers and prospects the relevant information for them to be able to make an informed decision as to the best advertising support for their business needs.
Works Digital have been excellent to work with over the past few years and always produce first-class materials for our sales teams. In particular they have worked to some tight deadlines on CIT (customer information tool) with many last minute changes to brief and always react brilliantly. We have carried out a number of very successful updates to our existing presentation slides and developed some great new concepts that have been very well received.
